Prep methods are used within recipes as associations to ingredients or components that make up that recipe (ex. Onions, Sliced). Prep methods are also associated directly to ingredients to define various actions that yield different amounts for costing purposes (ex. Chopped, Yields 85%).

Opsi has a breadth of default (global) prep methods to choose from while using the platform. If you don't see the prep method you want to use, go ahead and create your own!

You are still able to create, use and manage your own prep methods from within any of the "Prep" fields throughout opsi.

Check out how to do so below:

1. Enter the prep method name into any of the "Prep" fields on opsi

2. If you type a prep method that opsi does not contain as a default method, you have the ability to "Add" that new method. You also have the ability to "Manage" custom prep methods from this dropdown list.

3. Within "Manage" you are able to manage or add any of your custom prep methods.
